Mrs McARTHUR (Western Victoria) (12:58): My question is for the Minister for Training and Skills and Minister for Higher Education. Minister, you told me in questions yesterday that the Glenormiston College property, with its historic heritage-listed homestead, glorious grounds, leased commercial buildings and 300 acres of prime pasture, had been sold to Glenormiston Land Pty Ltd. Yet at Monday’s Public Accounts and Estimates Committee budget estimates hearing your department’s officials confirmed that the $4.7 million giveaway signed on 19 February this year had been made to Montgomery International. They also revealed settlement will not occur until 2024. In the interests of transparency, Minister, I ask you to explain which company has purchased the freehold and why the settlement terms are so generous.
