Anthony MARSH (Nepean) (14:31): (1772) My constituency question is for the Minister for Education. Since May, Rosebud Primary School’s oval has been closed because of large holes and divots that make it unsafe for students. I had the pleasure of meeting a parent along with school leadership last week to discuss this issue. It is the school’s only green space, leaving students unable to play at recess and lunchtime. The junior cross-country has been cancelled, while athletics day has been held inside. The school has also been advised that the Department of Education has no funding available to restore it. One mother of two boys at Rosebud Primary School said:

… my boys are really missing the oval …

They say:

I don’t want to go to school because we don’t get to play on the oval at lunch anymore.

Minister, why should students at Rosebud Primary School be left without a usable oval, because the government is too broke to fund its restoration?
